Camp Database Berlin
Around 500,000 people were forced to perform hard labour in Berlin during the Second World War. The map shows where the forced labourers were housed. There were approximately 3,000 camps in the territory of the Reich capital. Most of these were simple wooden barracks, but guesthouses, cinemas and private apartments were also used as collective accommodation. The database is currently under construction and currently contains over 2,000 camps. Individual locations can be identified using the map, and the search function allows text searches for streets, companies, nationalities or victim groups, for example.
